    How To Take This Course

    Content: Closing the Gap in Local Emergency Planning for People with Disabilities is a pilot course to teach public health and public safety emergency planners about inclusive local emergency planning and a planning process called the Community Stakeholder Meeting (CSM).

    Format: The course consists of 3 Assignments (Assignment 1-3; Assignment 2-3; and Assignment 3-3). You must finish all 3 Assignments to successfully complete the course and receive a full version of the Workbook and the course Certificate. The Workbook and course Certificate will be available on the Closing the Gap home page after you have completed all Assignments.

    Length: We estimate that the course will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.

    Navigation:

    • Begin with Assignment 1-3. At the beginning of this Assignment, as well as other Assignments, you may be asked to Attempt quiz now. If you see this message, click on it.


    • To advance through an Assignment click on the Next button. You will not be able to go back in Assignments 1-3 and 3-3, but you will be able to go back in Assignment 2-3.


    • At the end of an Assignment you must click Submit all and finish to move to the next Assignment. The new Assignment will appear on the course home page.


    • In Assignment 2-3 you may view feedback on your answers and other useful information by clicking on the Check button after you have submitted an answer. Feedback will also help you to answer future questions. This feature isn't available in Assignments 1-3 or 3-3.


    • You may monitor your progress through the course via the Quiz Navigation box in the upper left corner of most pages

    Making Your Webpage Larger or Smaller:

    Taking Breaks

    You may take a break at the end of an Assignment, but not during an Assignment, or the course won't retain your prior work and you'll have to re-start the Assignment from the beginning.
